Only if you're a Dutch Communist (because they're very liberal). Anywhere or anyone else...forget it. We've seen what happens in places like the former Soviet Union. BAH, comrade!

...but sometimes democracy looks alike. Especially when someone tries to tell you how to think (just look at the contest's idea x_x)

The biggest problem is human nature.

Look- people act as if this whole capitalism/communism fiasco has been around since forever. But if the whole human existence could be compressed into one day, then that mess wouldn't make up one second.

We've had SO MANY systems, and all have failed, simply because they were all built upon humans, so the foundation is corrupt. That is why America and Capitalism are doomed to fail: human nature.

Then something else will come along, and in time it will fail, too. Long after America and Soviet are as legendary as Atlantis and Lemuria.

Agree.

But, of course, capitalism is, for now, the best system (capitalism as it was in XIX-century USA). Keeping it simple and teaching people to work together. But now it's just degenerated - instead of relaying on other people we relies on almighty state. It's the way to control everything without official power.

It HAD to degenerate.

Capitalism, much like the Hare, always gets off to a better start in the beginning. This is why, technologically, the Soviets were always behind the West. This is due to initial competition, much like beta and VHS. Some will fall, others pull ahead.

The problem comes once capitalism is established. Once the industries are "in," and grown quite large, then they will use their size and power to bully and stifle any threat to themselves. The petroleum industries, and Hearst's fear tatics against hemp (it threatened his wood pulp interests), are examples of this.

As a result, capitalism stagnates. This is why, in 2010, cars don't really get much better mileage than they did when the OPEC oil fiasco of the 1970s occurred. In fact, why hasn't solar and other forms of energy advanced more? See above. If you ever came up with a cheap, 90% efficient solar cell that used the full electromagnetic spectrum (making current ones look like wood panels), the oil industries would try to buy you off- or kill you. Or use Big Government to find some "danger" with them.

Human nature. It prevails over all else here.

Only way to create ideal system is to create new men.
